Peacing It Together: A Framework for Preventing Youth Violence and Curriculum Review Guide provides violence prevention practitioners, health educators, teachers, administrators and youth workers with an overview of youth violence prevention strategies across the life cycle. Special issues, including teen dating violence, bullying, school violence, handgun violence, and gang violence, are also addressed. In addition, Peacing It Together offers a review of youth violence prevention curricula based on criteria identified as being essential for effective violence prevention. To help readers quickly identify appropriate curricula, they are outlined in two matrixes: 1) demographics of intended audience (age, gender, race and urban, suburban, or rural locale); and 2) types of violence addressed and methods of prevention utilized.
Peacing It Together is offered in book and CD-ROM formats. The CD, which is Mac and PC compatible, also includes valuable tip sheets from ICVP’s Evaluation Resource Institute. These tip sheets provide current information to help program address issues such as: “Planning for Evaluation,” “Designing Focus Groups” and “Reporting Your Evaluation Findings.”
