Welcome to ICVP
On behalf of the Illinois Center for Violence Prevention, Board of Directors, and our dedicated staff, I would like to welcome you to our new website. We are pleased to launch this new and more user friendly portal that will provide improved access to a wide range of information and services. There are many new features that I hope you will enjoy exploring including our e-Library, schedule of events, and coming soon, our webinar training center. This change to our website has been made for the public and the providers throughout the state of Illinois and beyond who are dedicated to preventing violence and making positive social change.
Much has changed over the 20 years since the founding of ICVP. However, our belief that interpersonal violence in all its forms can be prevented by a concerted, diverse, and multidisciplinary movement that views violence as both a public health and public safety issue has not been shaken. ICVP stands firm on its core values that violence is preventable, that everyone has the right to live free from violence while also having a role in preventing it. We believe that equality and respect are fundamental to successfully preventing violence.
ICVP looks forward to a time when acts of violence are rare. On that note, we will continue to research and develop capacity building tools that are evidence based and/or best practice models. We will provide evaluation tools to protect against flaws in implementation as well as tools to measure outcomes. Finally, we will support program sustainability by advocating for strong public policy and necessary funding.
We at the Illinois Center for Violence Prevention are proud of what has been accomplished over the past 20 years, always mindful that “it takes a village.” We thank you for your continued support and look forward to continuing to support each of you.
Thank you,

Gregory Jackson
Executive Director
